All High Plains Modelers meetings are open to both members and guests. Other than becoming dues paying member of the High Plains Modelers, there is no cost to attend the meetings and events; except for the entry fees for the annual High Plains Con contest, and of course, whenever there is food involved; purchase of food and beverages are left up to the individual. We do ask that anyone under 16 be accompanied by a parent or guardian for everyone’s safety.
Monthly Members Meeting
In our regular meetings we usually discuss any club business and announcements, then we have our Show-N-Tell session by bringing our latest finished models, and/or latest purchased model or special tool for an In-the-Box review, followed by the popular choice election of the Model of the Month from among the built models brought to that evening’s Show-N-Tell.

After the Show-N-Tell, we’ll often have How-to Clinics where some of our more experienced members show their skills and share their knowledge on different building, painting, decaling and weathering technique or a modeling topic of interest such as airbrushing or diorama construction, etc.
Build-N-Bull Sessions

Our Build-N-Bull sessions are where we bring a current project or two for a couple of hours of shared building fun, sharing ideas, techniques, tales … sometimes tall tales! The dialog flows freely, and the hours fly by much too fast. Each person is responsible for bringing their own tools and model kit to work with.
Usually, after the Build-N-Bull session, we’ll go out for lunch somewhere nearby. Again, the purchase of food and beverages is left up to the individual.
Other High Plains Modelers Meetups
Other official club meetings during the year are our annual High Plains Con model contest and swap meet, held at The Ranch Events Complex McKee 4H building exhibit hall in the fall of each year. And our club holds a Christmas Party which is on a pre-arranged date, place and time in December. Sometimes, we will hold an auction of model kits and other modeling supplies at one of our Monthly Meetings to help raise money for the club.
Our members also hold sometimes lively conversations and share their builds, ask and answer questions, and stay up to date via our member’s email listserv when we aren’t at a club meetup.

Occasionally, a member might host events of their own that are arranged outside of official club meetings. Plans for these meetups are usually announced at our monthly meeting by the member hosting the event. Other times we’ll assist with or sponsor a Community Event in our area. You can find these events listed on our calendar.
We’ve also included national IPMS/USA events, and events happening in our home Region 10 on our calendar.
Day, Time, and Location
Our Members Meetings are typically held on the Last Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm. And our Build-N-Bull sessions are held on the mornings of the Second Saturday of each month at 10:00am (unless otherwise noted). We meet in one of the meeting rooms at the McKee 4H building (number 1 on the map below) at The Ranch Events Complex (Larimer County Fairgrounds). The Ranch address is 5280 Arena Circle, Loveland, CO 80538. Consult the individual event listings in the calendar to find specific meeting room details.
