The High Plains Modelers club is a Northern Colorado chartered chapter of the International Plastic Modelers’ Society, USA, founded in 1986. The High Plains Modelers club is a 501c3 organization registered in Colorado.

For Modelers, By Modelers

Our club brings together plastic modelers from Northern Colorado, including the Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont and Greeley areas. We also have a few members who regularly come down from Wyoming. We build scale and plastic models of armor, airplanes, vehicles, ships, figurines and anything else that we think is fun to assemble. It doesn’t matter what genre you build, whether it is out of a box or scratch built, of real subjects or imaginary ones. A Chartered Chapter of IPMS/USA

High Plains Modelers has been a Chartered Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers Society since 1991. We are part of IPMS/USA Region 10-Rocky Mountain, which includes Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona.

IPMS/USA is the United States branch of the International Plastic Modelers Society, established in 1964. Boasting 4600+ members, the all-volunteer organization is dedicated to the modeling hobby. IPMS offers opportunities for modelers to share skills and participate in friendly competitions.

There are over 220 active chapters, including groups from all around the world. IPMS/USA produces a bi-monthly magazine for its members called the IPMS/USA Journal and maintains a website with product reviews, contest information, and member-only forums.

High Plains Modelers Memberships

Membership is open to all ages and all skill levels. It does not matter what you like to build, as long as you have fun doing it. Beginners can learn from seasoned modelers, and senior members can relive the excitement of a young person’s first kit build and offer encouragement.

As a High Plains Modelers member, you may attend and participate in all club activities, including monthly meetings, Build-N-Bull sessions, our annual contest, the High Plains Con, held each fall, and more.

Membership dues are only $15.00 per year for an individual or $18.00 per year for family memberships. Junior memberships (youth under 12) are free although we ask that a parent or guardian accompany the junior member at our meetings. To join, simply come to a meeting, introduce yourself and talk with one of our club officers or click on the Join HPM button below to become a member.

IPMS/USA Memberships

Many of our members also belong to the International Plastic Modelers Society, our charter organization. While IPMS/USA membership is not required to join the High Plains Modelers, it offers additional perks for serious modelers.
