Modellers Without Borders Announces Inaugural Virtual Model Exhibition 2025 (VMX 25)
A Global, Inclusive Celebration of the Scale Modelling Hobby
June 1 — Modellers Without Borders (MWB), the international non-profit dedicated to building an inclusive and connected modelling community, is proud to announce the launch of its first-ever global online event: Virtual Model Exhibition 2025 (VMX 25).
VMX 25 invites scale modellers from around the world to showcase their work in a fully virtual format that reflects the hobby’s growth and diversity. Entrants may enter models in any of the exhibition’s eleven classes (future exhibitions may have more):
Registration will open from August 1st until August 15th. Judging will occur after registration closes.
Registration is $10 USD, allowing each participant to enter up to five models. Builders can choose whether each model is evaluated, display-only, or both. Evaluations will use MWB’s skill-based system, which considers the modeller’s goals, experience, and craftsmanship. The system is designed to support growth, celebrate creativity, and recognize achievement across all skill levels — without comparison or competition. VMX 25 winners will receive unique Gold, Silver, or Bronze awards or certificates of Merit.
“VMX 25 is about bringing people together and celebrating the full spectrum of our hobby,” says Tim Holland, President of Modellers Without Borders. “Whether you’re building tanks, starships, or railcars, you’re part of a global community — creating smaller versions of bigger things — and this exhibition is your place to share that passion.”
As MWB’s first virtual event, VMX 25 is focused on creating a welcoming, accessible experience. Features include:
VMX 25 will take place after registrations are complete. For updates, visit www.modellers.org and subscribe or follow Modellers Without Borders on social media.
